Kjaer has successfully assigned all of the art projects seen on these pages, a few of the photographs were not taken in Kjaer's classrooms, because, unfortunately, there were not always photographs taken or saved of some of her numerous fabulous assignments:

CLAY - Kjaer offers quite an array of clay projects. There are 12 choices to choose from below, however, you can also assist in creating anything hand built including, huge platters, working clocks, individual and group murals. Kjaer's clay of choice is Paper Clay. When she began to use Paper Clay, she had to make it herself as the purchased clay was terrible. Kjaer discovered Seattle's Paper Clay and had Greenbarn in Surrey bring it in. Not many clay artists will agree that Paper Clay can be enjoyed unfired, however, Kjaer has found that, in a classroom, with out a kiln, that it is almost as strong as paper mache after you finish it as she suggests. It can be enjoyed in total raw form, with care, on a wall or a coffee table, but clay absolutely is always best fired! If your school has a kiln then please take the time to fire the pieces. When the completed clay pieces are dry, they can be stacked in the kiln on top of each other and touching. Kjaer will gladly leave information on how to decorate the completed fired or unfired pieces... or she can come back a second time.
