example of a 4 week - AFTER SCHOOL ART – with Kjaer
and it can be adapted to schools during class time too… please see NOTE:
Kjaer can provide this four week course to YOUR School:
$80.00 total for the 4 week after school session - includes all materials!!
-or- $60.00 per student for 4 weeks and supply list will be given to participants to buy their own
Note that ANY day of the week is possible. ALL students can be together for one class or we can do two separate classes … so that we can offer primary and intermediate groupings (perhaps with some overlap)
Week One: Oil Pastel Masterpiece. Students will enjoy examples of other artist’s works and then they will create their own original art with the focus on masks and faces. Students will have the opportunity to explore their own individual talents on a large19 x 24 piece of paper and then these masterpieces will be ready for parents to consider framing and hanging (this often occurs with my student’s finished work)
Week Two: ATC’s – Artist Trading Cards – these are miniature works of art - 64 mm x 89 mm. People of every age, and artistic ability create these all over the world and then trade them. They are usually made on cardboard, but, I will provide the students with small pieces of wood for that extra thrill of having a sense of a quality finished product.. Students will delight in the background information on ATC’s and the various artistic ideas … so that everyone can relax, explore and feel successful.
Week Three: Water Colour and black felt pen. This will be another intriguing and engaging week as students delve into the adventure of playing with water colour. They will appreciate creating on a few pieces of paper, and will then design right on top of their water colours with black felt pen… playfully, individually and masterfully complete their pieces of art. The theme will be a choice of either or both, along with examples… of organic abstracts and/or insects. EXCITING!!
Week Four: The last session will continue the student’s exploration by introducing water based felt pens and water. The examples and demonstration, as always, generate a feeling of success in their exploration and students are always thrilled with their completed project. We will explore cityscapes this week.
Thank you again for this opportunity and I hope to teach many more classes in your school. I am not only a teacher, an artist, a collaborative mural maker, and a clothing designer… but.. I also create with and teach clay hand building to teachers at Pro D’s AND to every age of student.
Kjaer Neletia Pedersen
NOTE:… this can be adapted to a school during class time in various ways ( I love to collaborate with teachers and consider their needs and curriculum studies)… AND… if at least 3 classrooms would like a four week course, during class hours… please notice that the price is less.. at only $25.00 per student with ALL supplies for 4 classes of quality art assignments.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
example only of an 8 week - AFTER SCHOOL ART – with Kjaer
and it can be adapted to schools during class time too… please see NOTE:
Kjaer can provide this EIGHT week course to YOUR School:
.. and any day of the week:
$150.00 total for the 8 week after school session- includes all materials!!
or- $100.00 per student for 8 weeks and supply list will be given to participants to buy their own
Note that ANY day of the week is possible. ALL students can be together for one class or we can do two separate classes … so that we can offer primary and intermediate groupings (perhaps with some overlap)
Week One: Introducing students to collage through ATC’s – Artist Trading Cards – these are miniature works of art - 64 mm x 89 mm.
Week Two: CLAY!!! Kjaer loves to create with clay and the students will too. Students will enjoy a demonstration and can make a gift for Mother or Father’s Day. Students will choose to create a bowl or a cylinder container. One is for keys and small pocket items and one is for a pencil container. Both, however, will be food safe. Kjaer will arrive in the classroom with clay, rolling pins, and a large variety of stamps for extra clay enjoyment!
The theme will be a choice of either or both, along with examples… of Bugs and/or flowers. EXCITING!!
Week Four: CLAY!! This is the week that students get to glaze their bowl or cylinder. A small creative art activity will also be provided for those students who glaze quickly J
Week Five: Oil Pastel Masterpiece. Students will enjoy examples of other artist’s works and then they will create their own original art with the focus on fish and ocean life. Students will have the opportunity to explore their own individual talents on a large19 x 24 piece of paper and then these masterpieces will be ready for parents to consider framing and hanging (this often occurs with my student’s finished work)
Week Six: Another week of experimenting and exploring and this time with pencil crayons. A creative exploration of abstract art with the focus on composition though engaging in many rough copies before deciding on working on a final piece.
Week Seven: Exploring who YOU are through portraits. Even though Kjaer has an exceptional program to teach students how to create an extraordinarily great charcoal portrait (which is at least 4 classes long by itself), Kjaer is able to adapt portrait creations into a personal LOVE session. Students first have to come up with 100 things that they love in life (and, yes, everyone can… and very often surprised by doing it). With collage and an array of ideas, designs, and perhaps arriving to class with a collection of photographs of themselves, along with other important copies such as music sheets, image of a trophy, and even magazine cut outs (yes a note will be sent home before this class)… they will create a personalized portrait that will be valued for a life time.
Week Eight: CHANGE the Mona Lisa… always a hit with Kjaer’s students. Kjaer has an abundance of art projects that are based on some of the world’s most famous paintings. The Mona Lisa was created by Leonardo da Vinci. Students will relax and have an amazing day of learning the Elements of Art… texture, form, shape, colour, line and value (tone)…. and joyously create with oil pastels.
Thank you again for this opportunity and I hope to teach many more classes in your school. I am not only a teacher, an artist, a collaborative mural maker, and a clothing designer… but.. I also create with and teach clay hand building to teachers at Pro D’s AND to every age of student.
